Created by Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green, Blue Bloods is the latest police procedural, airing on CBS. The show centers on the multi-generational Reagan family and features stars like Bridget Moynahan as Erin Reagan, Tom Selleck as Frank Reagan and Donnie Wahlberg as Danny.

The life of the entire family is connected to the New York City Police Department. The Reagan family is close knit but they share different ideas on the way to acquire justice. However, they are united when it comes to serving justice and leave no stone unturned for the same. Besides, they look at the job as a family business and not merely an occupation.

The show in its first season opens with Jamie Reagan graduating from the Police Academy and joining NYPD. The first case that he is assigned is of abduction of a nine year old girl. But, he is not alone in his pursuit as Frank and Danny assist him by handling the press. As the season progresses, the Reagans often find themselves in dilemmas. At times, they have to ponder a lot over shouldering responsibilities.

Every episode of this season sees the Reagans tackling a new case. They come together and solve heinous crime cases. In one of the episodes, they traced the narcotic supply trail behind a case of drug overdose. The family is often in multi-opinion about the methods they use while investigating crimes and when Erin wishes to shoot down a gang leader; her ideas are met with strong protest from the rest of the family members.

The crimes they tackle are not limited to their area only; they even reach Chinatown in pursuit of criminals. The Reagans stand united as a force whenever the life of any family member is in danger. For instance, when Frank was nearly shot down by an unknown gunman, the family sent an entire police force and launched an exclusive manhunt across the city to dig out the sniper.
