Boys over flowers, is an enthralling anime series that takes a plunge into Eitoku Academy, an elite high-school. The school is brimmed with spoiled brats from well-off families. One out of these notorious groups goes around in the school by the name of F4, playing pranks and raging a chaos, every now and then. The anime series has a ‘goody’ character as well, Makino Tsukushi (voiced by Kelly Sheridan). She sends ripples across transforming not only her surroundings, but also those, who come in contact with her.
The installments of the show revolve around the quarrel between Tsukushi and the F4. The leader of this rebellious flock is Tsukasa Domyouji. He’s voiced by Michael Adamthwaite in the English version. The other three members of this flock include Rui Hanazawa, Sojirou Nishikado and Akira Mimasaka. Hanazawa becomes Tsukushi’s love interest, though she alone harbors strong feelings for him. This brings to light the fact that as a result of fallout with the F4, Tsukushi’s unconventional ways win Tsukasa’s heart. Hanazawa handles the situation, rather maturely, by giving the hue of friendship to this relation and bridges the gap between Tsukasa and Tsukushi.
The series is an eye-candy due to its realistic portrayal of animated characters. For, they don’t seem like any other regular cartoons, instead their brown, twinkling eyes conveys a lot to one and all. Sojirou and Akira both, display womanizing instincts with Akira coming to fore to resolve any disputes of his group, F4. This romantic comedy takes an interesting route as it moves on from the fallout between F4 and Tsukushi, to the expansion of this four-some to five good friends.
