
Conceived by Kevin Biegel and Bill Lawrence, Cougar Town is an ABC sitcom which commenced on 23 September 2009. ABC Studios, along with Coquette Productions is involved in the production of this movie. Set at Culver Studios located in Culver City, California, the series evoked great response from the viewers when it premiered. The pilot episode acquired 11.28 million viewers and the viewership has not decreased, since then.
Cougar Town focuses on the life of a recently divorced woman Jules and, the challenges she faces as she steps into the next phase of her life. The pitfalls of her broken marriage are interestingly balanced with the rewards she accumulates, in the subsequent chapter of her life. Her ex-husband, along with her son and friends continue to support her and become a part of her extended family. This family is caring but, has its moments of dysfunctional behavior too.
In the first season, Jules starts dating other men immediately after her divorce. Initially, she starts dating Josh, but the relationship does not last long, as Josh develops feelings for her and, she does not reciprocate. Later, she gathers courage and enters in to a relationship with Jeff. However, Jeff tries to coerce her to marry him but, she is not prepared for a second marriage yet. So, she breaks off with him only to go back to Bobby, her ex-husband. As she indulges in physical intimacy with Bobby, his feelings for her seem to rekindle again and, he declares that he wants her back again. But Jules out rightly refuses, as she feels that she does not love him anymore. She wants to remain friends with Bobby for the sake of their son, Travis. As the season ends, she develops feelings for her neighbor Grayson and both start a relationship.
On September, 2010, the second season of the show premiered and was viewed by 8.35 million viewers. Throughout the season, Jules sticks to Grayson as she develops feelings for him and, is ready to make a commitment. However, she finds it difficult as Grayson has not yet expressed his feelings.
