CSI: NY, an American police procedural series, is an indirect spin off of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and is a direct spin off of CSI: Miami. It was premiered on May 17, 2004 and the pilot episode of the series was aired as a part of CSI: Miami. It centers on a team of New York City Police Department forensic scientists and follows them as they investigate the mind twisting crimes and mysteries in the city. Among the central characters of the series are: Mac Taylor, Stella Bonasera, Danny Messer, Lindsay Monroe and Doctor Sid Hammerback etc. CSI: NY has been renewed with the sixth season which would be premiered on September 23, 2009.
