
Award winning TV show, Deadwood resurrects history by interweaving facts and fiction in a completely different manner. The main plotline of the show traces down the socio-political scenario of the town of Deadwood. Even though the storyline takes into account the lives of several people residing in the corruption-infested town, the primary focus is on two historical figures, Seth Bullock and Wild Bill Hickok.
The show ran for three consecutive seasons. The first season opens with Sheriff Seth Bullock, as he heads towards the town of Deadwood to begin a new life as a businessman. However, destiny had something else in store for him, as Bullock meets Wild Bill Hickok and, together they rise up to fight against injustice. The meeting of the two main characters of the historical drama series has been presented in a very flamboyant fashion, with Bullock and Hickok shooting a man, who allegedly, killed the entire family brutally.
The second season continues with lively deeds of Bullock and Hickok and, the main focus is on the political change that erupts at the wake of US government’s declaration of converting Dakota (which includes Deadwood town) into a public territory. This season also dished out hiccups in the personal lives of Seth Bullock, as well as that of Wild Bill Hickok.
Created by David Milch, the show features Timothy Olyphant and Keith Carradine in the shoes of a Sheriff and a Gunslinger. The series try to boast the basic aspects of friendship, love and fellow feelings in the midst of corruption, unrest and treachery. The show soared to popularity because of the representation of some truth related to the evolution of Deadwood town of America. It not just deals with the legal and business aspects of the Deadwood, but also takes into consideration, their impact on the lives of the people. Deadwood presents a mirror image of how changes took place in American West, way back in 1870s.
