Dexter, a crime based American TV series, is derived from a series of novels, namely Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Dearly Devoted Dexter and Dexter in the Dark, written by Jeff Lindsay. Storyline of Dexter revolves around Dexter Morgan, a bloodstain pattern analyst, working with the Miami Metro Police Department. Dexter leads double life which is hidden from even those who’re very close to him. During the day, Dexter carries out the missions assigned to him as a blood spatter analyst and as night appears, he becomes the monstrous serial killer. Dexter is out the crowd of ordinary killers as he has some disciplines and rules to follow, installed in him by his foster father Harry Morgan. Dexter is coded to kill only those who actually deserve so, especially the ones who have just escaped the justice with help of wrong means. Dexter figures out such culprits during the day and kills then brutally at the same night in order to stop them from committing another crime, leaving no clues behind. Other important characters of Dexter are: Debra, Dexter’s sister and Rita, Dexter’s girlfriend. Besides these, several characters made appearance at times to carry out the plot requirements.     Dexter has finished three successful seasons on Showtime Network.
