
The out-of-the-box animation show, Drawn Together made its debut in 2007 and continued its stint for consecutive three seasons. This show basically spoofs the incidents and characters of reality series. The plotline retraces the lives of eight characters, and one of the interesting trivia is that all of them belong to popular TV shows. The main idea behind creating such an anime show is to draw humor out of satire. The cartoon series follows the concept of reality TV, and all the characters are put in a house so as to find out how exactly, the animated versions of popular characters look like.
All the three seasons of the show bring some hilarious instances revolving around the lives of characters like, Captain Hero, Foxxy Love, Ling-Ling, Princess Clara, Spanky Ham, Toot Braunstein, Wooldoor Sockbat and Xandir P. Wifflebottom. The show, very smartly, satirizes the immensely popular character of Superman as the cartoon replica named, Captain Hero. Similarly, it brings Princess Clara to spoof the Disney’s most adored character, Ariel.
In order to give a classical look to the anime, creators have used the conventional method of animation. Since, there is an amalgamation of different characters with opposing opinion; each episode features a completely different story arc. This show is not about the day-to-day adventures of a bunch of mismatched character, but a solely different take on pop culture.
This animation show has some leading voice-over artist of the industry, including Tara Strong. She lends her voice to the over-sized looking character of Toot Braunstein. Apart from Strong, there is Adam Carolla, who voices the mock-heroic version of Superman.
Throughout the three back-to-back seasons, this anime show spoofed almost all the aspects of pop culture. In the finale episode of the show, the story arc focused on its own closure theme.
