
Eastbound & Down brings to limelight, some hilarious instances involving the life of a baseball pro-turned-physical trainer. Kenny Powers, the lead, pursues the profession of a trainer at his homeland’s school, after having an unsuccessful sports career. The show has successfully completed two consecutive seasons.
During the first season of the show, the main lead of the comedy drama finds himself entangled in a helpless situation at his own hometown, North Carolina. Even though he finds himself, a job of provisional physical instructor at a school, his love for baseball constantly unsettles him. In a bid to earn some respect from the people around him, Powers tries some weird things that generate humor in oodles. This season also traces Powers’ affairs with April Buchanon, one of the hot girls in the town.
In one of the episodes of the premiere season, Powers proposes April in open, and the following incidents give birth to some funny story arcs. By the end of the season, he finally quits the job of an instructor, and puts an end to his relation with April.
The second season of the comedy show places Kenny Powers in Mexico, where he gets an opportunity to relive his dream of becoming a baseball star. In this season, humor is drawn out of Powers’ efforts to prove his critics wrong. Every time he tries to build a good image as a professional player, he faces disappointments. He also settles some old scores in Mexico. Overall, Eastbound & Down season 2 presents yet another funny side of the troubled baseball player.
The lead role of Kenny Powers is played by comedian-actor Danny McBride, while 29-year-old screen siren, Katy Mixon portrayed the character of April. Each episode of the show is accompanied by a song, whose theme falls in line with the story arc.
