A high-voltage police-procedural series, Hawaii Five-0 follows some strong-minded police officers, who embark on a journey to evade roots of crime, by treading upon the alleys of Hawaii State. The influential state police officers have just one task at hand, to make Hawaii a crime-free city. The series is based on its original series, which ran 42 years back from the date of its premiere.
The series follows the events that take place, as the special officers, who are appointed by Governor of Hawaii, explore criminal cases, in order to track down some merciless criminals. The team is supposed to take care of every imaginable crime, ranging from kidnapping to terrorism. Thus, each episode of the series brings some jolting action, as the headstrong officers take on the challenge to fight crime at all costs.
The head of the team is Steve McGarrett, played by Alex O'Loughlin, who takes the responsibility of all the actions taken by the team. Steve has one partner to his aid, Danny Williams, who’s a PD detective. The role of the detective is well executed by Scott Caan. At the start of each episode, a corpse is discovered and then the team members decide on the route to find the culprit. While on their way to investigation, they have the privilege of searching the places, as it’s provided to them by the Governor herself. Moreover, they have the immunity to save themselves from prosecution, if any mishap happens in their line-of-duty.
The show premieres with its first episode, in which Steve’s father gets murdered, leaving behind the incomplete investigation of a case that involves some high-profile corrupted people. As the episodes progress, the terrorist who murdered Steve’s father is taken into custody. An enigmatic figure questions the culprit, who later turns out to be the criminal, ‘Wo Fat’ himself.
Later, the truth is brought to the surface that he’s the same criminal, who had a helping hand in the car accident of Steve’s mother’s. That’s the reason why, when Steve’s father tried to explore things, he was forced to leave his job. But, his termination trick didn’t work fully in the favor of suspects, as he managed to collect evidences against them. Now, Steve has to conclude his father’s pending work, in order to seek justice for his father, and let the residents of Hawaii live a peaceful life!
