Broadcasted on FOX, Human Target is an action-laden series, which is devised by Jonathan E. Steinberg. This show is roughly based on a comic character and came into existence in January, 2010. The thrilling story of the show throws light on Christopher Chance, a man who’s termed as ‘Human Target’.
‘Human Target’ differs from other individuals in respect that he takes the responsibility of protecting his clients. Once he’s allocated a task, it becomes Christopher’s sole mission to save his clients. Rather than adopting the identity of his client to save him, Christopher indulges himself in the client’s life, to keep a close watch at all the suspicious activities.
Christopher has two persons to his aid: Winston and Guerrero. He’s in partnership with the former, while the latter is hired by him as a professional killer. As the story progresses, two more individuals join hands with Christopher. Ilsa Pucci provides him financial help, and thief Ames remains at his beck and call for expertise on fetching information from others.
The gut-wrenching role of Christopher is played by Mark Valley, while the challenging depiction of Guerrero is carried out by Jackie. Chi McBride has stepped inside the shoes of Winston very well, while Indira Varma looks fabulous in the portrayal of Ilsa Pucci.
The first season of the show picks up when someone attempts to execute Stephanie Dobbs. She then approaches Christopher to save her life. The protagonist helps the innocent lady by joining her as her Japanese-English translator, on Californian bullet train, where she works as a designer. Soon, Chance gets to identify the criminal, as the latter tries to kill Stephanie by poisoning her food. After being identified by Chance, the killer straightaway challenges Chance to fight and ultimately, gets killed.
This is how Chance starts his journey of saving people and then, continues his current job for 2 back-to-back seasons. The first season ends with Christopher recalling the incident that made him adopt the profession of ‘Human Target’. His emotional side surfaces, as he recalls meeting the love of his life, whose death gave birth to a savior inside him.
The second season kicks off with Chance vowing to quit being a bodyguard after rescuing Winston. But a situation in Ilsa’s life, which is connected to Winston’s past, forces him to regain his status. As the story moves on, Ilsa plans to leave for London, but can’t summon the courage to leave Chance. So, she stays with the team.
