Miranda Cosgrove graces the role of Carly Shaw and in this portrayal, revolutionizes the world of internet, with help from her friends Freddie (Nathan Kress) and Sam (Jennette McCurdy). It is without her knowledge that her friend, Freddie shoots her video as she and Sam indulge in some hilarious acts, and submits it on the web.
After the video is posted, web users find it so interesting that they demand for more. This incites the group of three to give birth to their own webcast. The trio earns name and fame as their website earns popularity and regular visitors. They soon start featuring talent-hunt competitions, help-programs with valuable guidance on solving problems, delicious food recipes and other song and dance based shows.
Jennette McCurdy in the role of Sam manages to grab the attention of all, while Nathan Kress in his portrayal of Freddie introduces a fun factor in the series.
The first season of the series picks up as Carly, Sam and Freddie launch their webcast, acting as a source of inspiration for the millions of teenagers, who seek for ways to achieve their dreams. The second season brings some drama at the relationship front, as Sam and Carly both fall in love with the same guy Shane, who is Freddie’s pal. They settle the debate of who gets to date him, with the one Shane kisses first.
Hilarity ensues from the very beginning in season 3 as Sam reveals that she and Freddie shared some close moments with each other, as a dentist gives her some laughing gas. Fun advances to an all-new level as Carly and gang tries to manage reputation of clients.
Season 4 sets the stage on fire, literally, when Spencer makes Carly a birthday gift – a lamp – which catches fire and sets Carly’s room ablaze. This season ends with some more fun, as Carly and Tori claim revenge on Steven, who’s dating the two at the same time!
