Lost Girl is a mysterious, supernatural drama that feeds on our energy – visual energy! The show has been directed by John Fawcett, who presents us with Bo, a succubus played by Anna Silk. She was abandoned by her mother and grew up in a family without knowing anything about her powers, or ‘Fae’ world.
She is a bisexual and has had several affairs, and almost every time has ended up killing her lovers. It is this that puts her into fleeing from the place she tries to settle at. In the initial episodes, we see her controlling her powers, after she learns that she isn’t a human after all. Her confederate Kenzi is a human figure, whom she had saved in the first episode.
Bo is basically concerned about her mysterious origins. She does not know how she turned out to be a succubus and not a human. Because she was raised among the humans, she has a certain affinity towards them. When people from the Fae world come to know about her, they are shocked on knowing that she in unaware of her powers and about the Fae world.
They have their own rules. Fae world is divided into two clans – the Dark and the Light. Both the clans hate each other and the humans. Bo has to decide, which clan she wants to be a part of in order to survive. She, however, chooses to not join any of the group and be on the side of the humans. This proposes in her a position of ‘neutrality’, which will only put her into trouble.
She is ready for that and goes on to become a private detective, as suggested by her sidekick Kenzi. The thrill and mystery keeps the episodes running at breathtaking speed, joined by Anna Silk’s perfect acting.
