Miami Medical is a lively show where doctors treat patients, who have come to them after being severely injured. The team of doctors comprises of several personalities, who are totally different from each other. They appear fragile when they are viewed separately, but put them together and they can fight any case and every patient.

The medical drama is created by Jeffrey Lieber and stars Jeremy Northan as Dr. Matthew Proctor in the lead role, who also happens to be the Chief of Trauma Team Alpha. Other doctors include Dr. Eva Zambrano (Lana Parrilla) who is the Asst. Chief Doctor, Dr. Chris Deleo and Dr. Serena Warren (played by Mike Vogel and Elisabeth Harnois respectively).

The series comes to be with the pilot episode, where the doctors operate a pregnant woman and her husband. The couple was in an ice-cream parlor when a gas explosion left them critically injured. It was in the pilot episode that Dr. Proctor joins the Trauma team. He had served as a military surgeon earlier.

The following episodes show the team dealing with several cases of patients arriving at the hospital after some or the other accidents leave them almost at the hands of death. The Trauma team is adept at dealing with cases, that don’t look very promising for the patients. The doctors deliver brilliantly even under pressure, and have successfully operated on many dying patients.

The show also puts forth some romantic twists, like episode 3, ‘What Lies Beneath’ where Zambrano and Deleo indulge in some flirting. The clarity and style with which the team deals with the cases, makes the show vigorous, and one where adrenaline-rush is a constant factor, maintaining its presence throughout season one’s thirteen episodes.

An important character in the show is Tuck Brody (Omar Gooding), who forms a perfect balance to keep the team together and continue working as a regular nurse himself.
