
The production of Mike & Molly expands the entertainment-rich list of well-conceptualized sitcoms. On September 20, 2010, the show initiated its airing journey on CBS. The actors Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell are enrapturing the viewers in altogether new avatars.
Set in Chicago Illinois, the show follows two very different people, brought together by one common similarity, which is obesity. One of them, Mike Biggs is a cop, who is desperate to loose some weight. The other, Molly Flynn, a dedicated teacher at a school, is hopeful about attaining a curvaceous figure. Destiny brings them together at Overeaters Anonymous group. Being the center of attraction due to their sagging bellies, both become a subject of mockery for several people including Carl McMillan, Mike’s fast-speaking partner; Victoria, Molly’s skinny sister and Samuel, a waiter at the officers’ most liked eating place.
Mike & Molly has Editfound viewers all across the globe, which is pretty evident from its telecasts in countries such as Canada, United Kingdom, Peru, Argentina, Costa Rica, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Australia, Poland, Ecuador, Venezuela, Uruguay, Belgium and Ireland.
The show’s first season unfailingly managed to make the audience break into mad fits of laughter. With positive critical reviews indicating its initial success, we can expect a lot more entertainment from it.
A writer named, Maura Kelly invited controversy, when she posted some remarks about this series in a blog, which did not go well with many people, including the show’s creator, Mark Roberts. He rejected her comments by terming them as “very high school.” Thankfully, the fire of controversy was extinguished, before it could blow out of proportions.
Undoubtedly, Mike & Holly is different from the customary situational comedies and that is why, draws millions towards its unique theme.
