Parenthood TV show is a side-splitting creation of Jason Katims, centered on the challenge of bringing up children in this technologically-advanced world. It is the second series adapted from a 1989 movie of the same name. The show offers a deep insight into the issues that affect both children and parents. It’s a co-production of Jason Katims, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Thomas Schlamme.
At first, September 23, 2010, was chosen as the date for its take off on NBC, but the debut had to be rescheduled, as cancerous cells were spotted in actress Maura Tierney’s breasts. The show received another setback when Tierney conveyed her inability to be a part of the show, as the shooting dates were colliding with her treatment schedule. To make space for a new actress to come in, Tierney’s already-shot scenes had to be deleted. Soon, Lauren Graham was roped in as her replacement.
The show’s pilot episode was shot in Northern California, with the assistance of local crews. A soundtrack based on it was unleashed in 2010, which encompassed compositions featured in the season one of the show. It went on to become an immediate hit, as high sales were reported all over.
The show’s out of the queue storyline has been well-depicted on screen by established stars such as Peter Krause (plays Adam Braverman), Lauren Graham (Sarah Braverman), Dax Shepard (Crosby Braverman), Monica Potter (Kristina Braverman), Sam Jaeger (Joel Graham), Savannah Paige Rae (Sydney Graham), Joy Bryant (Jasmine Trussell), Tyree Brown (Jabbar Trussell Braverman), Miles Heizer (Drew Holt), Craig T. Nelson (Zeek Braverman) and Erika Christensen.
Parenthood is a show for all those children and parents, who want to learn ways to make their relationship grow stronger, while enjoying a rib-tickling storyline. Its interesting concept makes for entertainment with a difference.
So far the reviews received by this John Katmin’s production have been more than promising.
