Rubicon is an out of the ordinary American television series that ran for just one season and entertained the audience to the core. On August 1, 2010, the show commenced its run on AMC. The credit for enlivening its captivating concept on screen goes to stars like Jessica Collins, Miranda Richardson, James Badge Dale, Peter Gerety, Micheal Cristofer and Dallas Roberts.
The brainchild of Jason Horwitch, the show revolves around an intelligence analyst, who investigates the suspense-shrouded murder mystery of his mentor and comes up with some startling information. The murder turns out to be a small segment of a larger conspiracy, planned out by a secret society. It seems that this organization is making the world act as its puppet and people are not aware that they are being manipulated.
The basic theme of the series seeks its inspiration from some of the conspiring movies of the 70s such as, The Parallax View, All The President’s Men and Three Days of the Condor. A common feature of all these films was that innocent characters got surrounded by uninvited troubles and slowly & steadily they unraveled a big conspiracy. Other noteworthy aspects of such movies are slow paced action and storylines that involve several intricate elements.
AMC officially ended the series on November 11, 2010, by stating that Rubicon was a chance to tell a rich and engaging story, and the channel prides itself on presenting such a creation. AMC added that canceling the show was a hard decision, but it is grateful for having worked with a highly devoted and skilled team.
The series comprises of 13 episodes and each of them packs a punch of entertainment that keeps the viewers glued till the very end.
