Running Wilde entered the genre of comedy television on September 21, 2010 through FOX Broadcasting Company. In the show, you will see Mitchell Hurwitz, Jim Vallely and Will Arnett come together again as creators, after having previously made a few successful endeavors.
The show focuses itself around a ‘serve no one but yourself’ billionaire named Steve Wilde, played by Will Arnett. This heir to an oil fortune is shown as knowing nothing about the actual world, and also suffers from the problems of depression, taking refuge in alcohol, and making drinking a habit.
The basic plot of the show revolves around him trying to win the affections of his childhood sweetheart Emmy Kadubic, played by Keri Russell. Emmy is shown as an environmentalist and also has a daughter named Puddle. The attempts from Steve to win Emmy’s affections often lead to situations that end in unexpected ways, and lead to quite a few funny misunderstandings.
Season 1 of the show saw Steve inviting Emmy to an awards party. At that point in time, Emmy is shown living in a rain forest. Thinking that Steve has changed, Emmy decides to go to the party, but on arriving, realizes that he was giving the award to himself. This whole thing leads to a lot of misunderstandings and Emmy looks to head back.
She is forced to stay, when her daughter tells her that she does not want to live in a rain forest. Though she agrees to stay, Emmy promises at the same time, to change Steve and make him more selfless.
The main cast of the show includes names to the likes of Robert Michael Morris donning the role of Mr. Lunt, Mel Rodriguez as Migo Salazar, Stefania LaVie Owen as Puddle Kadubic and Peter Serafinowicz as Fa'ad Shaoulin, along with Will and Keri.
