‘Sanctuary’, a Canadian-American sci-fi TV show, is all about Dr. Helen Magnus, an English scientist as old as 157 years and her team of gifted scientists. The series is the first one of its type to be shot on green screen, making use of virtual sets and extraordinary visual effects. Dr. Helen Magnus had the knowledge of a secret population- a collection of strange and terrifying beings, also known as abnormals, which are actually human beings with special abilities. Some of these abnormals bring curse to human lives whereas several of them need to be protected from humans, and Dr. Helen Magnus must work in both cases to save the innocents. Among the other team members are Ashley, her protégé Will Zimmerman, Henry Foss, and her introvert and reserved assistant, Bigfoot. It was premiered on sci-fi network on May 14, 2007 and is currently running with the second season. The series opener drew more than 3 million viewers and made Sanctuary one of the highest rated original series on the sci-fi channel.
