‘Sherlock’ is an effort of the British Television to present the age-old detective tales of Sherlock Holmes in a contemporary avatar. This entertainment-rich brainchild of Steven Moffat and Mart Gatiss kicked off its telecast journey on 25 July 2012, amassing a whopping viewer count of 9.3 million.
It has the dashing Benedict Cumberbatch playing the eponymous detective. Moreover, Doctor Watson’s intricate character has been enlivened by the talented Martin Freeman. The show would be covered in three segments, to share the exploits of ingenious Sherlock Holmes, as he penetrates his vision through bits and pieces of evidence in a modern setting.   
With its telecast rights sold to almost 200 territories, it is already minting quite a profit. Sherlock has been shot all around Britain and some of its major shooting locations are London, Merthyr Tydfil and Swansea.
Playing several important characters on the series are renowned stars like Rupert Graves, Andrew Scott, Una Stubbs and Mark Gatiss. This is an ideal presentation for the mystery addicts, who love to follow the enigma Sherlock Holmes brings to the screen.
