
Sons of Anarchy aired its first episode on the 3rd of September, 2008 on the cable network FX. Created by Kurt Sutter, it showcases the lives of a banned motorcycle group, primarily the Teller-Morrow family, that is functional in Charming, northern California.
The main cast of the show includes Charlie Hunnam as Jackson Teller, the vice-chairman of the club, Ron Perlman as Clarence Morrow, Katey Sagal as Gemma Teller Morrow, Mark Boone Jr. donning the role of Robert 'Bobby' Munson, Dayton Callie as Police Chief Wayne Unser, Kim Coates as Alex 'Tig' Trager, Tommy Flanagan as Filip 'Chibs' Telford and Ryan Hurst as Harry 'Opie' Winston.
The show portrays the lives of the club members. Though most of the club members have jobs in various industries, the real income of the club comes from some other sources. Club members are frequently shown as involving themselves in illegal import of weapons, raking in big moolah. They modify these weapons and sell them to various gangs.
They also offer security cover to businessmen, protecting their shipments from abductors. One of the highlights of the season 1 was the relationship between Jax and Tara, and how he ends up shooting Kohn, an ATF officer and Tara’s ex boyfriend. It saw Kohn breaking his restraining order and getting fired from his job. In a fit of revenge and anger, he returned to rape Tara. He is eventually gunned down by Jax.
It shows a multitude of friends and foes who deal with the motorcycle gang. The show portrays the lives of these members and how the incidents affect their lives. The gang has many enemies, other than the Police. Dealing with a lot of intricacies, the show brings to fore the complications and complexities that such a gang has to go through. |
