The central point of the series is Carlin family and it follows them as they move from Ohio to Los Angeles, California. South of Nowhere primarily throws light on the relationship between Spencer Carlin and Ashley Davies, her openly gay friend. South of Nowhere comes to an end on December 12, 2008 with the series finale entitled ‘On the Precipice’. It’s the first TV series ever whose leading characters are the gay teenagers.
