The Real Housewives of Atlanta has managed to carve a niche for itself among today’s done-to-death TV segment, the reality TV shows. Initially meant for the ladies, this show has caught the eye of men and women across the country.
After the success of The Real Housewives of Orange County, and New York City, this TV series started in the city of Atlanta, Georgia. This shows housewives from different families and locations of the Atlanta city.
The show stars Sheree Whitfield, Nene Leakes, Kim Zolciak, Kandi Buruss, Cynthia Bailey and Phaendra Parks. They are all married women with kids; some of them are divorced as well. This show features the housewives taking on their daily lives and the problems that come along with it.
Starting with Sheree, she has been on this show since the beginning. She is divorced from a NFL player and is a struggling actress, still looking to make an impact in the American film industry. She has also launched her fashion line, although not without its set of delays and problems. Now she is trying out as a singer and an actress.
Nene Leakes is also a divorcee featured on this show. She is shown to be a little bit arrogant and self-defensive. This probably comes from the fact she was evicted from her rental apartment, and her organization for helping women was suspected for embezzling and subsequently dissolved by the authorities. Her feud with another housewife, Kim attracted huge viewer interest for the show.
Kim Zolciak is another divorced mother of 2 kids; she has been accused of being selfish and greedy, and also of being a gold-digger. Kim has an unknown benefactor, who is buying her expensive stuff.
The latest entrants to the show are housewives Cynthia Bailey and Phaendra Parks, Kandi Buruss.
The show focuses on the lives of these ladies, as they tackle issues ranging from impending divorces, separations, extra-marital affairs, and super-egos are clashing every time. Apart from the funny side of this show, it also shows the issues plaguing the modern women, the pain of going through their divorce and how they manage to take care of their kids and also balance their much-vaunted social lives. It’s a touch of a soap opera sprinkled all over a juicy, gossipy reality TV show.
