In the next season, mentoring was shuffled as Sharon left the show and Louis Walsh replaced her. As a result, he was given groups to mentor, whereas Simon Cowell mentored boys. In the sixth season, some amendments were done in the selection procedure. Contestants were made to audition in front of the judges, as well as the live audiences.
